Marie Kučerová

I'm a mom on parental leave who used to work as an occupational therapist. In my previous job, I worked mainly with older people with reduced independence.

 

At the same time, I am a volunteer at Amelia, an association for people with cancer and their loved ones.

 

It makes me happy when I can sing with my friends. I play a bit of guitar myself, I love live music and listening to music of different genres. I like to spend time in nature, e.g. hiking in the mountains, but I also like to spend time by the sea.

 

When I need to "clear my head" I go for a run, my other favorite sports include skating, cross-country skiing, and ball games.

 

In my spare time, I am with my family or friends, when I have a moment to myself I devote it to reading and writing. Some of my favorite authors are Karel Čapek, Antoine de Saint - Exupéry, and Michael Ende.

 

My motivation for writing

I have enjoyed writing since I was a child, I started in primary school, at that time I wrote more "in the drawer". But gradually the desire to share my work matured in me. First with my family and friends, and later I took part in a literary competition, from which I have a collection of entries as a memory. At that time I sent a few of my poems. I took part in several creative writing courses, which was an interesting experience and a chance for me to move on. At this time I was on parental leave and was approached by the founder of the blog Energy of Words with the possibility of joining the project. I was very pleased and regained a bit of courage to "go out with my writing".

 

Writing style

Write mostly short reflections, poems, and short stories. You can also find some of my reviews in the Energy of Words project. I find inspiration in everyday little things, interesting experiences, and people.

 

My future dreams

Eventually, I would like to write a book that has something nice to say to others and give them something nice through reading. I would also like to engage with people through writing, not just in contact in a hospital setting as part of a rehabilitation exercise. At the same time, I would like to write a book for my children. Although I haven't ventured into fairy tales yet, I believe that in time I will find a way to enrich them as well.
