My name is Marušánek and a cat caught me - It's raining again (5.)
I'm so unlucky! It's raining again.
I was so looking forward to it, and now it looks like I'll be stuck at home all morning.
All the humans have gone to work, and it's just us animals at home. Not that it's not nice, but it's just not the same.
There's a warm breeze outside, drying my feathers, birds are singing, insects are buzzing, and every now and then a tasty treat in the form of a fly or a flying seed falls into my private pool.
The stones are warm, and I can dry my wet feathers on them after my bath. But the best thing is when I can dry them in someone's hands. I use my beak to gradually collect the drops of water that have stuck to my belly and then spray them in all directions. It's fun because I always splash someone.
Drying my feathers is a very tedious and important activity. I have to collect every drop with my beak and shake my head to spray it as far as possible so that I don't get wet again. I do everything with great care, partly so that I look beautiful and partly so that my belly doesn't get cold. When I grow up, I'll have adult feathers, which are better suited for swimming and allow water to run off more easily. For now, my body is covered with soft baby down. It actually looks more like fur than feathers. But I don't mind.
In the evening, it started to get a little cold. I ate my fill and burrowed as deep as I could into my bed. My eyes started to close, so Hanka took me to my box. Today, I didn't protest at all. I turned my back to the warmth radiating from the lamp and was asleep in no time.
